Swing Time(1936)

Swing Time stars Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, the dancing couple that wowed audiences long before Dancing With The Stars. They truly make any dance look so easy that I couldn’t take my eyes of them in their dancing scenes.

The story is about a gambler, appropriately named Lucky(Fred Astaire) who arrives so late to his own wedding the brides father calls it off until Lucky can earn $25,000 to prove he is responsible enough to marry his daughter. While trying to make $25,000 he meets Penny(Ginger Rogers) at a dance studio. Before Lucky realizes he is thinking more about Penny than he is about the $25,000.

Between the lovely dance numbers you’ll chuckle at the situations that Lucky finds himself in and hear some well known songs of the era such as “A Fine Romance” and “The Way You Look Tonight”.
